about me.

hi. i’m edwin.

My style is a hybridization of both documentary and editorial techniques. I love being a fly on the wall, capturing authentic, intimate moments between my subjects and their environments. I also enjoy crafting dramatic scenes when the circumstances arise.

I am 100% about the craft and art of photography. One of my favorite parts of the photography process is editing. I do not subscribe to the school of extreme skin airbrushing, maximum color saturation, or harsh clarity settings (“HDR”). My editing is centered around film emulation, due to my love of film photography and the smooth beautiful muted tones it can produce.

In addition to digital photography, I also shoot both medium format and 35mm film, so let me know if that is something you would like to include in your session. I scan all of my own negatives for quality assurance.

I’ve been doing this long enough to know that subjects who feel uncomfortable in front of the camera do not usually produce the best images, so my focus is to always make sure everyone involved is 100% comfortable and at ease. You don’t need to be a supermodel or a dramatic version of yourself, all you have to be is your authentic self. That’s it!

I hope you enjoy my work—and if you do—give me a call, email, or text and let’s get planning!
